Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser so it can remember something between pages or visits — most commonly, that you are signed in. Browsers also offer a related feature called local storage, which websites can use to remember preferences on your own device. This policy covers both.

Sign-in cookies (essential). When you sign in, our authentication provider (Supabase) sets secure cookies that keep your session active as you move around the Platform. Without them, you could not stay signed in. They are first-party, are not used for tracking, and expire when your session does.

Early-access cookie (essential, temporary). While the Platform is in its pre-launch period, a single cookie records that you have entered the early-access password. It contains no personal information and will be removed at public launch.

On-device preferences (local storage). The Platform remembers a small number of comfort settings on your own device — for example your preferred text size, whether you have dismissed the cookie notice, and which one-time guidance messages you have already seen. These never leave your browser.

Bot check on sign-in (essential). Our sign-up, sign-in and password-reset forms include a small automated check from Cloudflare (Turnstile) that tells a person from a bot without asking you to solve a puzzle. It runs inside its own frame from Cloudflare and may keep a short-lived technical token there while the form is open. It is not used to track you across sites.

Visitors who open a memorial or contribution link do not need to sign in, and no sign-in cookies are set for them.

No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking. No selling or sharing of browsing data. We currently use no analytics cookies at all; if we ever introduce privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the Platform is used, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser’s settings at any time. Because every cookie MiWish sets is essential, blocking them will stop you from signing in — but you can still open a memorial link you have been sent, which requires no cookies at all.

If the Platform’s use of cookies changes, this page will be updated before the change takes effect, and the date at the top will show when. See also our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal information generally.
